Oil companies don't pay taxes, they merely collect them. Forcing oil companies to "pay" higher taxes takes money out of our pockets. Gas costs plenty already.
Higher energy costs hurt the economy.
If Obama has any intelligence whatsoever, he knows this. Obama is either stupid or deliberately trying to hurt the economy.

Stupid and trying to hurt the economy. But in this case, it is a bonus that he is pandering to other people who are stupid. Divid and conquer is still around because it almost always works.

Have you heard about the trucks that can run on wood? I am seriously considering purchasing a truck and trying to convert it. Gas was 4.15 the other day. Bloody hell, it's ridiculous.

Yes. There are some interesting videos on youtube. I think there are some kits you can buy.
I've considered it myself.
I figure it isn't something to do to save money on gas*, but rather something to stay mobile when the gas stops flowing.
*At these prices. Who knows, at $10 a gallon it might not be as inconvenient.
